Who is Professor Spud?

Professor Spud is our mascot — a humble potato who stumbled into a quantum lecture hall, fell in love with mathematics, and now travels through different realms teaching what it learned. Each realm (The Grid for linear algebra, The Mist for probability, The Neural for ML, etc.) has its own visual identity and learning journey.

The Grid covers linear algebra, The Flow handles calculus, The Mist explores probability, The Peak tackles optimization, and The Neural is home to machine learning algorithms. More realms (game theory, physics, cryptography) are coming!

Do I need programming experience?

Not to get started! Our visualizations build intuition without requiring any code. As you progress, some Python knowledge helps you implement what you learn, but it's not required. We believe in understanding the "why" before the "how."

Currently, The Neural realm offers six core ML algorithms (Linear Regression, Logistic Regression, Decision Trees, KNN, SVM, Neural Networks) with interactive visualizations. The foundations (The Grid, The Flow, The Mist, The Peak) cover the mathematical prerequisites. Deep learning, game theory, and more are in development!

Quantato is self-paced. Each topic can be explored in 15-30 minutes. The full Machine Learning journey typically takes 10-20 hours of focused study. But there's no rush — Professor Spud will be here whenever you're ready.
